Junior Sports

Finley, her bestie Zoe and their pal Adam are taking a class called Junior Sports.  I still have yet to figure out the exact format of the class, but Coach Ed is awesome (and I'm not even saying that because he's a cuter 21 year-old than Socatot's Coach Jason was).  Fin loves class - this week it was all about gymnastics.

Here's Fin faking that she can't walk the balance beam alone....I'm sure it's all a ploy to get Coach Ed to hold hands with her.

And here they are ready to bounce three times on a springboard, hop onto the horse, "do the helicopter" and then jump off.  Yep, this is what we pay the big bucks for.

No matter where they are or what activity they're involved in, Finley and Zoe are either both loving it, both hating it, both listening, both acting like terrors.... They're a package deal, and nothing if not loyal to one another.  Here they are, looking a bit skeptical.

Oh, and yes...we even use the loo with our princess dress on while working on a princess puzzle.

The Latest

Now that Nolan is sitting up (he started sitting on his own about 5-6 weeks ago), his world has gotten much more exciting.  He spends a ton of time playing with his toys...until Finley takes them away from him....and has even started crawling (backwards).

Finley is still OBSESSED with princesses. She talks nonstop about how she's going to be Belle for Halloween, and wears her Cinderella costume every single day.

Right now Finley goes to school three mornings a week, which gives me some quality one-on-one time with Nolan. We basically spend our time playing with all of Finley's favorite toys and she's none the wiser.  Here he is, making his move for Woody.

Mission accomplished.

The kids are doing great and we're getting ready for our trip to Bali.  We leave Saturday and are SO excited for it!  We plan on lots of beach/pool time, maybe seeing some elephants, and meeting up with friends who will also be vacationing there.  Dave is going to get in at least one round of golf, and I'm hoping for a few hours of alone time too.  Woohoo!

Scenic Sunday and a little Monday too

Thank goodness HK winters are pretty much nonexistent.  Sunday was GORGEOUS out, so we took the kids for a walk/stroll/scoot at Tai Tam Country Park.  I love love love having this amazing park 2 minutes from home!

Dave looks like a hottie single dad in this shot.

She exceeded all speed limits set by Dave and I but had a blast.

This picture reminds me of another time we were here....except now Nolan is in the stroller instead of in my ginormous stomach.

Pictures like this make it easy for me to love Dave.  How sweet are they?

Fin is absolutely thrilled that her HK bestie Zoe is taking ballet with her this term.  They're my two favorite ballerinas ever.

Seven Months!

Happy seven month birthday, Nolan!

And for comparison's sake, here's Finley at seven months. =)

I'd write more, but our helper is on holiday until tomorrow night...which means I'm not only expected to watch my kids during the day, but I also have to cook, clean and do laundry!  Gasp!  Back to work!

The rest of December...

The rest of our time in Chicago was great...but SO busy.  We were able to see lots of close friends and all of our family, but somehow didn't have enough time for everyone and for everything we wanted to do.  I was so happy that Finley got to see her two Chicago bff's (Emma and AJ) and that I was able to spend quality time with their moms!  We split our time between my mom's house and Julie's place in the city (a.k.a. our old condo), so it was a good mix of things.  Other than that, there was a lot of shopping done, a ton of pizza consumed and way too much trekking all over the place.  I also got to see 6 of my college roommates and best friends at our friend Carrie's bachelorette party.  It was a great excuse to get all of us together again.  So the trip was pretty much a whirlwind.  It was so nice celebrating Christmas in Chicago, but we don't miss the cold weather at all.

He's not used to all this bundling up...

Fin was all about meeting Santa until the time came to sit on his lap.  In the end, she hightailed it as far away from him as possible and Nolan was forced to be her proxy.

Celebrating Christmas at Nana and Papa's

Christmas morning at GJ and Grandpa Dave's.  This was the closest thing I could get to a pic of them together.

Thank goodness Santa came through and brought her Woody.

Playing with Woody - and check out those pink sparkly Tom's shoes!  Fin is one stylish girl thanks to Goo Goo (Aunt Julie).
